Adding Third-Party Dante Devices to the User Library

The purpose of this Tech Tip is to provide instruction on how to add third-party Dante devices to the User Library of Composer. Symetrix Composer contains a list of supported third-party Dante devices. When these supported devices are added to a site file, Composer can create transmit/receive subscriptions as well as provide control for some devices.

Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) Coprocessor

Adding a Radius NX AEC Coprocessor to Radius NX 4×4 or Radius NX 12×8 systems promotes the highest possible levels of clarity and intelligibility in AV conferencing and distance learning applications.

ARC-PSE

The Symetrix ARC-PSe provides data and power distribution over standard CAT5/6 cable for systems with more than 4 ARCs, or, when any number of ARCs are located long distances from a Integrator Series, Jupiter or Symetrix DSP unit. A half-rack form factor conserves rack space, or, if preferred, the ARC-PSe may be surface mounted. The incoming serial control signal coming from the DSP is received by the ARC-PSe on a RJ-45 input connector, and then power and signal are distributed via 8 RJ-45 output connectors. The use of off-the-shelf CAT5/6 cable and RJ-45 connectors reduces installation time and materials costs.

Choosing the Best Control Server Networking Mode for Your System

Choosing the best Control Server networking mode is critical to AV system operation and security. Access Point (AP) Mode and Client Mode each are appropriate for specific use cases.

Composer Push, Pull, Sync

In Composer, there are two main ways to go online with a DSP: “Push” and “Pull.” Both have their own unique qualities that may translate to pros and cons, depending on what needs to be accomplished.

Custom Dante Rx Bus

In Composer, Dante devices added to a site file will automatically create one or more transmit channels, which then automatically create Dante receive buses in the Design view. Sometimes, a third-party Dante device will have more channels available than is desired in a Site File.

Presets are snapshots of a given set of parameters in a given state. If a preset is recalled and one of those parameters is adjusted independently, the dropdown text box will still show the last preset recalled.

Dante Basics for Successful Audiovisual Design

Dante is an uncompressed, multi-channel digital media networking technology, with near-zero latency and synchronization. Dante does away with heavy, expensive, analog or multicore cabling, replacing it with low-cost, readily available CAT5e and higher Ethernet or fiber optic cable for a simple, lightweight, and economical solution.
