Symetrix Launches USB AVoIP Audio Endpoint

Seattle, WA, June 12, 2024 — Symetrix, Inc. announced the launch of a new AVoIP endpoint for the processing of USB audio sources. The xIO USB supports educational, justice, conferencing, and other applications that utilize desktops, laptops, or attendee-supplied devices (BYOD).

“USB audio has become ubiquitous in the day-to-day operation of court rooms, meeting rooms, and classrooms,” said Quinn Klarer, Symetrix Product Manager. “The xIO USB will make it easy for consultants and integrators to streamline system design and interface with popular collaborations solutions like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.”

The xIO USB performance endpoint from Symetrix features front and rear USB-C connectors, two channels of transmit/receive over USB, and two channels of transmit and receive for AVoIP. Importantly, the device includes HID synchronization to maximize integration with Symetrix control devices.

“We took a long look at the existing products in the market and found that there was room for improvement,” said Scott Gellner, Senior Engineering Program Manager. “With the xIO USB, designers can choose PoE for convenience, or DC power connections that enable charging of user devices like laptops and phones.”

The xIO USB endpoint fits in a one-quarter rack space and can be surface mounted in either a vertical or horizontal orientation using the included bracket.

“The new xIO USB endpoint is an important expansion of the Symetrix ecosystem,” said Ty Hawley, VP Sales and Marketing. “Our growing portfolio of enterprise applications and scalable processors like the new Server D100 DSP provide a complete solution for campuses, court rooms, and conference centers. Symetrix continues to be dedicated to quality, clarity, and customer experience and these traits are reflected in the thoughtfulness and details of this new component.”
