Symetrix Wins Four Coveted Awards for Groundbreaking Cognio Platform at InfoComm 2026
Symetrix Cognio honored as best-in-show emerging technology by Future’s AVTechnology, Systems Contractor News, and HETMA’s Higher Ed AV Awards at the 2026 InfoComm Show
Las Vegas, NV – June 19, 2026 – Symetrix, a global leader in high-performance AV processing, control, and monitoring solutions, is pleased to announce the company was honored with multiple awards for its groundbreaking Cognio™ AV and Control Platform at the 2026 InfoComm Show. Cognio was awarded Future’s Best of Show Award presented by AVTechnology, named Most Innovative Emerging Technology in this year’s SCN Installation Product Awards, and won for Best-in-Class Control System in HETMA’s Higher Ed AV Awards. Symetrix also won the Gold Higher Ed AV Award for Best Use of Emerging Technology for the first-ever deployment of Cognio at Monash University.
These awards reflect the industry’s growing recognition for Cognio’s ability to address some of the most persistent challenges in modern AV system design and deployment. Unlike traditional processor-centric systems that concentrate intelligence into centralized hardware, Cognio is built around a distributed, software-defined architecture that embeds processing and control throughout the system. This approach eliminates centralized dependencies, enables systems to scale naturally across rooms, buildings, and campuses, and allows AV environments to evolve over time without costly rip-and-replace upgrades.
“Cognio was created to solve the architectural limitations that have constrained AV system design for too long,” said Mark Graham, CEO of Symetrix. “These awards recognize not only the innovation behind the platform, but the real-world impact Cognio can have for integrators, consultants, designers, and end users. We believe distributed intelligence represents the next major step forward for commercial AV, and it is exciting to see that vision validated at InfoComm.”
Future’s Best of Show Awards are evaluated by a panel of engineers and industry experts, and are selected based on innovation, feature set, perceived value and application in serving the industry. "The products nominated for the Best of Show Awards showcase the innovation, creativity, and technical excellence on display throughout the exhibition. These standout solutions offer attendees a valuable look at the latest advancements in professional AV while recognizing the technologies making the biggest impact across the industry," said the awards editorial team.
The SCN Installation Product Awards reward and highlight the most innovative commercial AV products of 2025 and early 2026, with winners being announced and celebrated at InfoComm. The awards’ editorial team said, “The Installation Product Awards recognize the most outstanding commercial AV products, and the companies behind them, from 2025 and 2026. All the entries are voted on by our readership audience of more than 39,000 unique monthly site visitors, our readers and subscribers have selected winners as the best of the best. All our winners should be proud of their achievements–a well-deserved congratulations from the entire awards team.”
The Higher Ed AV Awards further recognized Cognio’s real-world application through its first-ever deployment at Monash University, one of Australia’s largest and most globally recognized universities. Delivered in partnership with PAVT Australia & New Zealand, the Monash deployment uses Cognio to support the university’s Active Learning environments, which emphasize collaboration, participation, and dynamic student engagement. By enabling Monash to standardize experiences across diverse teaching spaces while independently managing and updating individual rooms, Cognio provides a scalable AV foundation designed to evolve alongside the university’s teaching models.
At InfoComm 2026 where Cognio made its U.S. debut, these award wins mark a significant milestone in the platform’s evolution following its global introduction at ISE. The recognition underscores Symetrix’s broader vision for the future of AV: systems that move beyond rigid hardware constraints, reduce complexity for professionals, and deliver reliable, scalable, software-driven experiences for the people who depend on them every day.
